As some will know already, the time has almost come for me to take my retirement from policing after an incredible 30 years. So with that, I will also be stepping down from my role in the JESIP Team, which I’ve been proud to lead for the last year or so.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported JESIP down the years and everyone who has stepped up to support the team and I and our transformation work more recently. I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far, while recognising that there remains a lot more for us all to do.

While of course sad to be leaving, I’m really pleased to be handing over the role to the very safe hands of my colleague Matt England, who many of you will know already from his recent work as our Delivery Manager, and who was recently successful in the selection process for a new Head of the Team. And I’m extremely grateful that Matt and the team have asked me to stay involved as a JESIP Associate, a role I’ll begin immediately by representing JESIP at the ESS next week where I hope to see many of you there.

It’s because I believe in the life-saving role that JESIP and joint working can play in emergency response that I wanted to get involved in the first place. And because I still believe in it so strongly that I want to stay involved in this way.

With best wishes for the future,

Chief Superintendent David Boyle
