The nature of emergencies our country faces is changing as it is across the world. Our emergency services are working together to ensure they can play their part in providing the national resilience our country needs.

Thankfully, major emergencies do not happen often, but when they do, our emergency services kick into action and respond to an ever growing range of incidents. Renowned for being some of the best in the world, there is always room for improvement. JESIP was initiated to improve the way emergency services respond together in order save more lives.

We have done a lot to improve joint working across the country including setting a national standard for joint working arrangements and training thousands of staff in those arrangements. There is much more to do but we are well on the way to a more coherent and consistent approach to emergency response across the whole of the UK.
