Use of JESIP Brand, Materials and Associated Products

Overview

JESIP branding, materials and products represent nationally agreed, evidence-based interoperability guidance. Their use must be carefully controlled to maintain consistency, integrity and public confidence.

This page sets out how JESIP branding and materials may be used by partner organisations, third parties and members of the public.

Use of JESIP branding

The JESIP name, logo and branding must only be used where:

  • You are delivering or communicating official JESIP materials or messages
  • You are using content taken directly from approved JESIP resources, toolkits or training
  • Use has been explicitly authorised by the national JESIP team

The JESIP logo must not be:

  • Altered, adapted or modified in any way
  • Applied to independently produced materials
  • Used to imply endorsement of products, services, or organisations

This includes materials that are derived from or influenced by JESIP doctrine but are not officially produced by JESIP.

Third-party materials and products

From time to time, products (such as log books, aide memoires or printed materials) may appear in circulation which include JESIP branding or reference JESIP doctrine.

Unless these are clearly issued through official JESIP channels:

  • They are not endorsed by JESIP
  • Their content has not been quality assured by JESIP
  • Their availability does not imply approval or recommendation

The inclusion of JESIP branding on a product does not in itself indicate that it has been produced, approved or supported by JESIP.

Permitted use (non-commercial)

JESIP materials may be used for non-commercial purposes where:

  • Content is used accurately and in context
  • Materials are not altered in a way that changes meaning or intent
  • Use supports legitimate training, interoperability, resilience or public service activity
  • No suggestion is made that JESIP has endorsed the organisation or material

Organisations are responsible for ensuring any use aligns with:

  • Current JESIP doctrine
  • Their own governance, policy and operational requirements

Commercial use and licensing

Use of JESIP branding, materials or derived products for commercial purposes is not permitted without prior agreement.

Commercial use includes:

  • Selling products incorporating JESIP materials or branding
  • Providing paid training or consultancy using JESIP-branded materials
  • Using JESIP branding in commercial marketing or services

Any organisation wishing to do so must obtain:

  • Prior written permission from the national JESIP team
  • Agreement to any applicable licensing conditions

Brand integrity and compliance

Where use of JESIP branding is permitted:

  • Only approved logo formats must be used
  • Branding must be applied in line with JESIP brand guidelines
  • Materials must maintain the professional and authoritative standard expected of JESIP

Use that falls outside of these requirements may result in:

  • A request to amend or remove materials
  • Withdrawal of permission to use JESIP branding
